Have you ever heard of FourSquare? No? Me neither, not until today at least anyway. So what is FourSquare and why should you be interested? Essentially what it does it tells you where you friends are. It has aspects of Twitter, and Facebook.
The system is based around a concept known as “checking-in”. You check-in from bars, restaurants, events, and leave a very brief status message of where you are and what you are doing. You can also create to-do lists and top 12 list of your recommendations for people to visit.
There is also a game that adds to the addictiveness of this social tool, which encourages you to check-in more often. It’s fun and addictive and creates a certain interactivity between you and your social network.
This is going to be a massive tool for finding your way around, to meeting up with friends, to visiting new areas and getting the lo-down.
I’m guessing that this tool is going to makes for offline businesses. Think of that restaurant where you had an amazing meal. Guess what you can write a short blurb about it and recommend it to your friends. Damn, this is yet another brilliant piece of ingenuity that you can use to build your business.
Check out FourSquare here.
