You might have heard all the recent hub-bub about twitter launching their own advertising model. With their new monetized model, now you can advertise on twitter with Tweetup or with Twitter‘s own Sponsored Tweets platform.
And if you are wondering if I know what the difference between the two options are, the answer is that Tweetup is developed by the guys that bought you Yahoo! search advertising, and Sponsored Tweets is provided by Twitter themselves. If you are familiar with google’s Adwords platform then these Twitter advertising models won’t surprise you at all because they are very similar.
I am going to run a couple of test campaigns to see if I can generate some positive ROI. If you are interested to learn more then check out this posts on Search Engine Land Blog:

I think the twitter ad idea may not work. The main reason is content relevance. How many people are searching stuff in twitter?
To be completely honest the twitter promoted tweets system baffles me. After going through the campaign setup process I am too scared to click the go button, because they might think my promo tweets are too advertorial. I wish someone from Twitter would just create some videos to tell us how to use this stupid service.
